White Hall's sixth inning charge helps upend Lady Cardinals, 5-3

            The Lady Cardinals fell short at the AAAAA State Tournament after losing the lead in the sixth inning Thursday, as White Hall grabbed a 5-3 victory in seven innings at Kimery Park in Hot Springs. Brooke Larkin racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Lady Cardinals (19-12, 10-4). She singled in the first, third, and fourth innings.

            Lauren Graves got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She allowed three runs over seven innings. Graves struck out five, walked two and gave up nine hits. Mackenzie Sill (13-8) was the game's losing pitcher. She went six innings, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

            The Lady Cardinals jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Larkin singled to ignite the Lady Cardinals' offense. A single by Brandy Wallace then moved Larkin from first to second. White Hall rallied late, scoring three runs in the sixth on two singles.

The Lady Cardinals third-inning burst enough to top Harrison, 10-0

            A seven-run explosion in the third inning spurred the Lady Cardinals (18-11, 9-4) to a 10-0 win in five innings over Harrison at Farmington on Friday. The Lady Cardinals scored in the third on an RBI single by Brooke Larkin, a two-run single by Brandy Wallace, a two-run single by Callie Harper, an error, and an RBI single by Bethany McKnight. Larkin racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lady Cardinals.

            The Lady Cardinals' Mackenzie Sill (13-7) kept Harrison off the scoreboard for all five innings she was in the circle. She pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on five hits while ringing up five. Collette Lavoi ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed 10 runs in four innings, walked none and struck out one.

            The Lady Cardinals added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Bethany Doty doubled, bringing home Sara Beth Jones. That was followed up by Larkin's double, plating Bethany Doty.

Early lead gives the Lady Cardinals victory over Harrison on Senior Night, 13-2

            The Lady Cardinals jumped out to an early lead on Harrison and captured a 13-2 victory on Friday at Farmington. With 11 runs in the first three innings, the Lady Cardinals (19-11, 10-4) left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

            A two-run double by Brandy Wallace, a two-run triple by Courtney Bodine, and a two-run error during the first inning and a solo home run by Bethany Doty and an RBI single by Callie Harper in the second inning helped the Lady Cardinals put some runs on the board early.

Bethany Doty got a hit in each of her three at bats.

            Brooke Larkin (3-1) got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed one run over three innings. She struck out one, walked one and surrendered four hits. The Lady Cardinals were sparked by Wallace and Bethany Doty, who teamed up for seven hits and eight RBIs.

            Collette Lavoi was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed 13 runs in four innings, walked one and struck out two. It didn't take long for the Lady Cardinals to respond as they scored three runs of their own in the third. The Lady Cardinals scored on a two-run single by Wallace and a steal of home by Bethany Doty. The Lady Cardinals tacked on another two runs in the fourth.             The Lady Cardinals (16-11, 7-4) beat Maumelle 6-2 in seven innings on Monday at Farmington behind Bethany Doty, who had two extra base hits. She doubled in the first inning and tripled in the second inning.

            Mackenzie Sill (12-7) was a workhorse on the rubber while bagging the win for the Lady Cardinals. Sill allowed no earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work. Becca Almond ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed six runs in six innings, walked three and struck out five.

            The Lady Cardinals went up for good in the first, scoring one run on an RBI single by Brooke Larkin. The Lady Cardinals increased their lead with four runs in the second. The inning looked promising, as Sara Beth Jones singled, plating Paige Devecsery to kick things off. That was followed up by Bethany Doty's triple, scoring Jones and Bethany McKnight.

            The Lady Cardinals beat Maumelle on Monday 7-1 at Farmington in seven innings. The Lady Cardinals scored two runs in the fifth on the Lady Cardinals scored in the fifth on a groundout by Brooklyn Keeling and a groundout by Bethany McKnightBrandy Wallace racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lady Cardinals (17-11, 8-4). She doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

            Maumelle couldn't get anything going so long as Brooke Larkin (2-1) was on the hill. Larkin gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during her seven innings of work. Faith Melton was charged with the loss. She allowed seven runs in six innings, walked one and struck out five.

            The game was never in doubt after the first, as the Lady Cardinals scored two runs on an RBI double by Wallace and an RBI single by Courtney Bodine. The Lady Cardinals brought home two runs in the fourth inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the fourth, the Lady Cardinals scored on a groundout by Sara Beth Jones, scoring Tkeyah McDaniel.

            The Lady Cardinals (15-11, 6-4) fell to Greenwood 5-0 at Greenwood. Victoria Taylor got the win for Greenwood. She tossed seven innings of shutout ball.             Greenwood was sparked by Mikayleigh Davis and Tatum Holland, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs. Mackenzie Sill (11-7) took the loss for the Lady Cardinals. In 6 innings, she walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

Greenwood piled on three more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Phoebe Ulmer doubled, scoring Sydney Parker to start the inning. Lady Cardinals get more hits, but not more runs in 3-1 loss to Vilonia

The Lady Cardinals (15-9, 6-3) lost 3-1 in seven innings at Vilonia on Thursday, despite outhitting Vilonia seven to six. Sydney Wader recorded the win for Vilonia. She allowed one run over seven innings. Wader struck out five, walked three and gave up seven hits. Mackenzie Sill (8-5) ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She lasted six innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs. The Lady Eagle took the lead in the first, scoring two runs on a groundout by Rachel Hinson and an RBI single by Ashley (Buggy) Lyons. The seventh inning saw the Lady Cardinals score their only run on the day on an RBI single by Brooke Larkin.

Vilonia defeats Lady Cardinals despite Brooke Larkin's strong effort, 4-2

Brooke Larkin did her best to change the outcome, but Larkin couldn't guide the Lady Cardinals past Vilonia as the Lady Cardinals (15-10, 6-4) lost 4-2 in seven innings at Vilonia on Thursday.

Larkin held Vilonia scoreless for 5 2/3 innings. Larkin allowed two hits, one walk and struck out six.

Marlee Hinsley got the win for Vilonia. She allowed two runs over seven innings. Hinsley struck out none, walked two and gave up two hits. Mackenzie Sill (8-6) was charged with the loss.

Vilonia didn't relinquish the lead after scoring four runs in the first inning when it scored on three singles. One run in the top of the fourth helped the Lady Cardinals close their deficit to 4-1. A groundout by Brandy Wallace triggered the Lady Cardinals' comeback.

One run in the top of the seventh helped the Lady Cardinals close their deficit to 4-2. A groundout by Callie Harper gave the Lady Cardinals life. Vilonia's Hinsley induced a Bethany McKnight ground out to close things out.

    Cortnye Pool was the game's losing pitcher. She lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed four runs.             Fayetteville took the lead in the sixth inning, and the Lady Cardinals (13-8, 6-2) was unable to muster a comeback, losing 5-2 in seven innings on Friday at Farmington. Maggie Mabry recorded the win for Fayetteville. She allowed one run over six innings. Mabry struck out none, walked one and gave up five hits.

            Brooke Larkin (0-1) took the loss for the Lady Cardinals. She lasted seven innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs, 3 earned.

Fayetteville didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the sixth inning when it scored on an RBI single by Mabry.

            Fayetteville added four more runs in the top of the seventh. Anna Koch singled, plating Kathriene Ezell and Katherine Ruddell to start the inning. That was followed up by Emily Lyles's single, plating Heavenly Lunsford

            After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the seventh, the Lady Cardinals faced just a 5-2 deficit.             The Lady Cardinals (12-7, 5-2) jumped out to an early lead on Morrilton and captured an 8-1 victory on Thursday at Morrilton. Five runs in the first three innings allowed the Lady Cardinals to put the game away early.

            An RBI double by Courtney Bodine during the second inning fueled the Lady Cardinals' offense early. Brooke Larkin went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for the Lady Cardinals. She doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

            Mackenzie Sill (9-4) baffled Morrilton, striking out five batters. Sill allowed one earned run on six hits and no walks over five innings. The Lady Cardinals piled on four more runs in the top of the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Callie Harper singled, scoring Larkin. That was followed up by Sill's single, bringing home Brandy Wallace. The Lady Cardinals increased their lead with two runs in the fourth. A clutch ground out scored Wallace to open the scoring in the frame.

            The Lady Cardinals (13-7, 6-2) beat Morrilton on Thursday 12-0 at Morrilton in five innings.

They scored five runs in the fifth on the Lady Cardinals scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Bethany McKnight, an RBI double by Brooke Larkin, an RBI single by Brandy Wallace, and a two-run single by Callie HarperBethany Doty had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. She doubled in the third and fourth innings.

Morrilton managed just two hits off of Sill, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during her 4 1/3 innings of work. The game was never in doubt after the first, as the Lady Cardinals scored one run on an RBI double by Wallace.

The Lady Cardinals scored in the fourth on a walk by Bethany McKnight, an RBI single by Mackenzie Sill, a walk by Brooklyn Keeling, a bases loaded walk by Hayley Massengale, a wild pitch, a walk by Courtney Bodine, a two-run single by Bethany Doty, an RBI single by Bethany McKnight, an RBI single by Keeling, a bases loaded walk, and an RBI single by Brooke Larkin.

            Larkin racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Lady Cardinals. Sill racked up four strikeouts in the the Lady Cardinals win. Sill allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks over five innings.

            Clarksville converted a triple play in the fourth inning. Massengale couldn't get it done in the circle for Clarksville , taking a loss. She allowed 14 runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked seven and struck out one. The Lady Cardinals went up for good in the third, scoring two runs on a two-run triple by Larkin.

            The Lady Cardinals (11-7, 4-2) beat Clarksville 10-0 in six innings in game 2 on Tuesday at Farmington after a six-run explosion in the fourth inning. The Lady Cardinals scored in the fourth on a two-run single by Brandy Wallace, an RBI double by Callie Harper, a two-run double by Bethany Doty, and a sacrifice fly by Brooklyn Keeling.

            Wallace racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Lady Cardinals. The Lady Cardinals' Mackenzie Sill (8-4) kept Clarksville off the scoreboard for all six innings she was in the circle. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out two. The Lady Cardinals easily handled Clarksville pitching as six hitters combined for 17 hits, nine RBIs and nine runs scored.

            Hayley Massengale couldn't get it done on the rubber for Clarksville , taking a loss. She allowed 10 runs in 5 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out none. The Lady Cardinals never trailed after scoring one run in the third on an RBI single by Bethany Doty.

            Mackenzie Sill took the loss, racking up six strikeouts.  allowing two earned runs, five hits and three walks over 6 innings. Kylie Hall got the win for Southside. She allowed one run over 7 innings. She struck out two, walked one and surrendered four hits.

            The Lady Cardinals' lone run of the ballgame came in the first inning on an RBI single by Brandy Wallace. Southside never surrendered the lead after the fifth inning, scoring two runs on two singles.

Lauren Thomas came in to close out the game with a groundout and a strike out. The Lady Cardinals never surrendered the lead after the first inning, scoring one run on a groundout by Brooke Larkin.

            The Lady Cardinals increased their lead with two runs in the second. A error after a steal scored Courtney Bodine to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Jones' single, scoring Brooke D. Smith. Atkins scored its only run of the game on an RBI double by Webb in the fourth inning.

The Lady Cardinals outlasted Bentonville on Friday after five lead changes, squeaking out a 4-3 win in the River City Rumbel at Van Buren. The Lady Cardinals took the lead in the fifth inning and held on for the victory. The Lady Cardinals went up for good on an RBI single by Bethany McKnight off Prough, plating Tkeyah McDaniel.

Courtney Bodine was hot from the plate for the Lady Cardinals. Bodine went 2-3 and scored one run. She doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Mackenzie Sill recorded the win for the Lady Cardinals. She allowed three runs over five innings. Sill struck out two, walked one and gave up eight hits. Prough was the game's losing pitcher. She lasted just 4 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed four runs.

The bottom of the first saw the Lady Cardinals take an early lead, 1-0. Sara Beth Jones singled to ignite the Lady Cardinals' offense. A groundout by Bethany Doty then moved Jones from first to second.

One the Lady Cardinals baserunners came all the way around to score in each of the second, fourth and fifth. In the second, the Lady Cardinals scored on a wild pitch, scoring Brianna Center.

Bentonville put up one run in each of the third, fourth and fifth. In the third, Bentonville scored on an RBI double by Hardison, bringing home Wildeman. The Lady Cardinals answered Bentonville 's top inning with one run of their own in the fifth.

Brooke Larkin did all she could to give the Lady Cardinals a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Van Buren in the River City Rumble, as the Lady Cardinals lost 7-2 in four innings at Van Buren on Friday.

Larkin was hot from the plate for the Lady Cardinals. Larkin went 2-2 and drove in one. She doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

Sikes got the win for Van Buren . She allowed two runs over four innings. Sikes struck out four, walked none and gave up four hits. Van Buren was sparked by Sikes and Miles, who teamed up for three hits and four RBIs.

Mackenzie Sill took the loss for the Lady Cardinals. She allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out two.

Van Buren never trailed after scoring three runs in the first on two doubles. Van Buren scored two runs in the third inning, and then followed it up with two more in the fourth. In the third, Van Buren scored on a fielder's choice, scoring Stafford.

After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the third, the Lady Cardinals faced just a 5-2 deficit. A groundout by Bethany Doty and an RBI single by Larkin gave the Lady Cardinals life.

She struck out six, walked two and surrendered four hits. Mackenzie Sill took the loss for the Lady Cardinals. She went eight innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed five runs.

The Lady Cardinals jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Courtney Bodine singled to ignite the Lady Cardinals' offense. The Lady Cardinals then tacked on 2 runs when Bodine scored on a groundout by Bethany McKnight. Greenbrier didn't relinquish the lead after scoring four runs in the eighth inning when it scored on a sacrifice fly by Maggie Garrett and two singles.

                The Lady Cardinals fell 7-1 to Greenbrier at Farmington in game 2 on Thursday.

Charline Lasley recorded the win for Greenbrier. She pitched five shutout innings. Lasley struck out three, walked two and gave up one hit.

Lauren Thomas was charged with the loss. She lasted four innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed five runs. The lead stayed with Greenbrier after the first, when it scored three runs on an error, a sacrifice fly by Jaylee Engelkes, and an RBI single by Maggie Garrett. The lone run of the game for the Lady Cardinals crossed the plate in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Brandy Wallace.

  Bethany Doty had two extra base hits as the Lady Cardinals took home a 7-4 victory over Pottsville in five innings in the opening round of the Farmington/Fayetteville Tournament at Farmington on Friday. She doubled in the third inning and homered in the fourth inning. The Lady Cardinals were sparked by Sara Beth Jones and Bethany Doty, who teamed up for four hits and four RBIs. The Lady Cardinals never surrendered the lead after the fourth inning, scoring six runs on a two-run home run by Bethany Doty and two singles. Mackenzie Sill got the win for the Lady Cardinals. She allowed four runs over five innings. She struck out three, walked two and surrendered eight hits. Savannah Gosnell was charged with the loss. Game 2: Lady Cardinals get on top of Conway early but can't hang on in 4-3 loss

            The Lady Cardinals jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 4-3 to Conway on Saturday. While the Lady Cardinals led until the fifth inning, Conway worked its way back and took the lead on a two-run error.

            Brooke Larkin got a hit in each of her three at bats. She singled in the first, second, and fourth innings.

Mallory Kirkemier recorded the win for Conway . She allowed three runs over five innings. Kirkemier struck out two, walked four and gave up six hits.

Mackenzie Sill couldn't get it done in the circle for the Lady Cardinals, taking a loss. She lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.

            In the top of the first, the Lady Cardinals grabbed the early lead, 3-0. A single by Larkin, scoring Bethany Doty started the inning off. The Lady Cardinals added more runs when Larkin and Wallace scored on a two-run single by Courtney Bodine.

The game was never in doubt after the fifth, as Conway scored three runs on two errors.

Game 3: Early boost from Brandy Wallace helps the Lady Cardinals get past Pottsville, 7-4

            The Lady Cardinals' four first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 7-4 win over Pottsville on Saturday at Fayetteville.

            The Lady Cardinals scored in the first on an RBI single by Brandy Wallace, a steal of home by Brooke Larkin, an RBI single by Courtney Bodine, and an RBI single by Callie Harper.

Larkin was hot from the plate for the Lady Cardinals. Larkin went 2-2, drove in one and scored one run. She singled in the first and second innings.

            Lauren Thomas got the win for the Lady Cardinals. She allowed four runs over four innings. Thomas struck out one, walked one and gave up seven hits. Rachel Wright was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed seven runs in three innings, walked none and struck out none.

After pushing across one run in the top of the second, Pottsville faced just a 4-1 deficit. An RBI single by Hailey Cain gave Pottsville life. Finally, Thomas got Skylar Campbell to ground out to end the threat. After a quick strike from Pottsville, the Lady Cardinals responded with one run in the second. The Lady Cardinals scored on an RBI single by Larkin.

            Two runs in the top of the third helped Pottsville close its deficit to 5-3. A sacrifice fly by Ashley Lequieu and a groundout by Ashley Brannon fueled Pottsville's comeback. The Lady Cardinals stopped the rally after Thomas got Kira Harrell to fly out.

The Lady Cardinals quickly matched Pottsville's strong inning with a two-run inning of their own in the third. The Lady Cardinals scored on a two-run home run by Brooke D. Smith.

One Pottsville run crossed the plate in the top half of the fourth, making the score 7-4. An RBI single by Campbell triggered Pottsville's comeback. The Lady Cardinals' Thomas induced a Kaitlinn Bailey fly out to close things out.

            The Lady Cardinals' put together a second-inning 10 run rally that helped defeat Fayetteville 13-1 on Saturday at Farmington.

            The Lady Cardinals added three more in the third to finish off the time-limit victory. MacKenzie Sill earned the win, allowing one run on 4 hits. Brooke Larkin and Brandy Wallace each had three hits to lead the attack. Brooke Smith had two hits, including her 2nd home run of the day to drive in two RBI.

            Courtney Bodine went 2-2, but the Lady Cardinals still fell to Conway 8-4 in four innings on Saturday at Fayetteville. Mallory Kirkemier got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. She allowed four runs over four innings. She struck out four, walked three and surrendered four hits.

            Conway was sparked by Bailey Beckham and Morgan Felts, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.

Brooke A. Smith ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed six runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out none.

            The game was never in doubt after the second, as Conway scored six runs on a two-run double by Felts, an error, a fielder's choice, and an RBI single by Rachel Jones. After posting two runs in the second, the Lady Cardinals again scored two in the third. In the second, the Lady Cardinals scored on an RBI single by Callie Harper, scoring Tkeyah McDaniel. An RBI single by Bodine and a walk by Harper triggered the Lady Cardinals' comeback. Finally, Kirkemier got Brianna Center to ground out to end the threat. Conway piled on two more runs in the top of the fourth. A single by Felts ignited the offense, plating Beckham.

            An 11-run explosion in the first inning lifted the Lady Cardinals to a 15-1 win in five innings over Gravette at Farmington on Thursday.
            The Lady Cardinals scored in the first on an RBI single by Brooke Larkin, a two-run double by Brandy Wallace, an error, an RBI double by Callie Harper, an RBI single by Brianna Center, an RBI single by Sara Beth Jones, a two-run single by Larkin, and a two-run double by Wallace.Wallace racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Lady Cardinals.
            Mackenzie Sill shut down Gravette while she was on the rubber. Gravette managed just two hits off of Sill, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during her four innings of work.
            Lindsee LaBrecque couldn't get it done in the circle for Gravette , taking a loss. She allowed 15 runs in four innings, walked one and struck out one. The Lady Cardinals built upon their lead with three runs in the third. A double by Wallace ignited the offense,, scoring Jones and Larkin.

            The Lady Cardinals and Greenwood volleyed the lead five times on Saturday, but the Lady Cardinals came out on top for a 5-4 win on Saturday at Farmington.

The Lady Cardinals finally managed to grab the lead after a strong seventh inning. The Lady Cardinals went up for good on an RBI single, the third hit if the day by Callie Harper off Victoria Taylor, plating Brooke Larkin. The Lady Cardinals' Courtney Bodine was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. She singled in the fourth, sixth, and seventh innings.

            Lauren Thomas got the win for the Lady Cardinals. She allowed one run over 1 2/3 innings. She struck out none, walked one and surrendered one hit. Taylor was the game's losing pitcher. She lasted just 6 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed five runs. The Lady Cardinals jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third. The Lady Cardinals' rally started when Bethany McKnight singled. Brandy Wallace singled, bringing home Bethany Doty.

            The Lady Cardinals got one-run boosts in each of the fourth, sixth and seventh. In the fourth, the Lady Cardinals scored on a groundout by Brianna Center, plating Bodine. Greenwood scored three runs in the sixth, due in large part to a two-run blast off the bat of Sydney Parker, bringing home Abbey Lejong. The Lady Cardinals answered Greenwood's top inning with one run of their own in the seventh.
