After two cancellations in the early part of the week, the Lady Cardinals opened 1-AAAA Conference play at Prairie Grove on Thursday with a 12-1 victory and a 5-0 JV win.

Then, Friday and Saturday they played in the Lady Cat Invitational in Conway. They dropped the first game to Conway, 7-5, but rebounded Saturday morning with a 5-4 victory over Benton. That afternoon, Conway won the rematch 9-5. Bentonville won the tournament with a 1-0 win over Fayetteville.

The Lady Cardinals had a great week, winning Varsity games against Pea Ridge, Springdale High, Springdale HarBer, and Siloam Springs, and JV games vs. Pea Ridge, Springdale and HarBer.

The Lady Cardinals were runner-up in the invitational Farmington-Fayetteville Tournament over the weekend. They opened with a 14-1 win over regional rival Booneville, then followed with a 7-4 win over Conway. Fayetteville sent them to the elimination bracket with a 7-1 defeat, but they rebounded with a tight 2-1 win, eliminating Conway. Fayetteville opened the championship game with 8 early runs, then held on at the end to win 8-6.

A very special THANK YOU goes out to all the fans, parents, staff and friends that helped with the tournament and made it a huge success. Farmington has the best support structure of any program in the state of Arkansas and that support is a key ingredient in the success of the team and their 9-2 start in the 2008 season.

How about this snow and winter weather!!! The Lady Cardinals cancelled Thursday’s game vs. Clarksville. It will be made up at home on Monday, March 24th, at 5:00 p.m. Friday’s game vs. Faytteville has been moved to April 15th.
