Opening Day was Friday, Feb. 29, vs. Springdale HarBer, at Central Junior High’s field in Springdale.  The Lady Cardinals’ offense was hot early as they scored 8 in the first inning on the way to a 14-2 victory over the Lady Wildcats.  Kelly Helton was 3-3 and Skyler Smith gained her first win of the season.  Shelby Culver was 3-4 with 4 RBI and Lacey Kragel, Samantha Luther and Katy Chavis had 2 hits each.  FHS won the JV game, 5-1.

Saturday, March 1, the Lady Cardinals traveled to J.B. Hunt field to play Springdale High School.  Skyler Smith picked up the 9-0 victory by throwing FHS’s first no-hitter since Abby Hutchins’ 2006 no-hitter.  Smith only had one base runner reach in the first inning of the near-perfect game.  Kelly Helton had 3 hits with a double and Shelby Culver had 3 as well with a triple to deep right field.  Morgan Clark had 2 hits including a double, and Samantha Luther hit an ITP home run to deep left field and 2 RBI.  Ashley Gourley also had 2 RBI.  FHS won the JV game, 4-2.
